Description
Tender steak cubes seared to perfection and coated in a rich garlic butter sauce, ready in just 15 minutes. This quick and flavorful recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Pat steak cubes dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Heat until shimmering, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add steak cubes in a single layer without overcrowding. Sear without moving for 2 minutes, then flip and cook another 2 minutes until a deep brown crust forms.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Push steak to one side of the pan and add butter and minced garlic. Stir constantly to prevent garlic from burning and spoon melted garlic butter over steak bites for 1-2 minutes.
- Add chopped fresh herbs and stir to combine and coat the steak bites.
- Serve immediately while hot and coated with garlic butter.
Notes
Patting the steak dry is crucial for a good sear. Avoid overcrowding the pan to prevent steaming. Use fresh garlic and stir constantly to avoid burning. Rest steak bites briefly after cooking for maximum juiciness. For dairy-free, substitute butter with ghee or plant-based margarine.
