Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) store-bought or homemade pizza dough
- 2 cups (about 200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup (about 100g) shredded provolone cheese
- 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme blend)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for dusting)
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, dried Italian herbs, and salt. Mix well.
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll the pizza dough into a 12×10 inch (30×25 cm) rectangle about ¼ inch (6 mm) thick.
- Brush the dough generously with half of the garlic butter mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and provolone evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Brush the top of the cheese with the remaining garlic butter.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into sticks about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide and 6 inches (15 cm) long, yielding roughly 12 sticks.
- Arrange the sticks on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and dough edges are golden brown. Watch closely after 10 minutes to avoid burning.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes to allow cheese to set.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
